1. What is InterPhil?

news board InterPhil (Intercultural Philosophy News) is a moderated mailing list and provides a multilingual news board on events and further information from the fields of intercultural and comparative philosophy. This may include in individual cases news from interculturally oriented cultural, social, religious or historical sciences, as far as the information is of philosophical relevance.

2. What kind of information should I submit to InterPhil?

typical messages Typical messages should be conference announcements, calls for papers, information about web resources or employment opportunities and must be relevant to the list's thematic orientation. Submitted information should be of international interest, such as the announcement of a conference of several days' duration, but not an invitation to a one-day event or to a solitary lecture. InterPhil generally does not announce individual sections, panels or workshops of a congress nor new print publications. Please do not post thematic inquiries or contributions for discussion. You are requested to submit your message as plain text (no HTML) and not to attach files.

3. Where do I find old messages from InterPhil?

list archive All messages to InterPhil are archived and available on the web. You can read the messages in the external linklist archive. Use the search function below to search the full text of the archived messages.

4. How do I subscribe to InterPhil?

subscription If you would like to subscribe to InterPhil, please fill in your email address in the form in the web administration. You will then receive an email confirming your subscription. To avoid misuse, your account will only be activated once you have responded to the confirmation. Your personal data will, of course, be treated with confidentiality. We assure you it will not be made available to any other parties.
Another way of subscribing to InterPhil is simply to send an email to the address interphil-request@list.polylog.org, containing the command subscribe [password] in the subject of the message (no brackets). Your password must be given to unsubscribe or change your options, but if you omit the password, one will be generated for you.

5. How do I post to InterPhil?

posting To post a message to InterPhil, you need to have subscribed to the list. Send posts to the list address interphil@list.polylog.org. If you are not subscribed to the list but would like to post, please send your message to the list owner at listmaster@polylog.org. Messages from non-members sent to the list will be automatically discarded.

6. How can I unsubscribe from InterPhil?

desubscription If you would like to unsubscribe from InterPhil, please use the form in the web administration. You will then receive an email confirming your desubscription.
Alternatively, send an email to the address interphil-request@list.polylog.org with the command unsubscribe [password] in the subject of your message. If given, your password must match your current password. If omitted, a confirmation email will be sent to the unsubscribing address. If you wish to unsubscribe an address other than the address you sent this request from, you may specify address=[address] (no brackets around the email address).

7. How do I change my email address?

address change If you need to change the email address that you are subscribed to the list, you can enter the new address in the respective fields in the web administration. Note that a confirmation email will be sent to the new address, and the change must be confirmed before it is processed.

8. How can I suspend mail temporarily?

mail delivery If you want to suspend mail from InterPhil temporarily – as when you go on vacation – then set the option Mail delivery in the web administration to Disabled. To restart mail delivery, simply re-enable it.
